Read below as she gives you an insight to who she is, what led her to music and where she plans on bringing it.
IceBurghSociety.com: Where are you from?
Black Orchid: Brampton, now residing in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
IceBurghSociety.com: What got you into music?
Black Orchid: Growing up in church and loving music, my dad is a singer and a songwriter as well.
IceBurghSociety.com: How would you describe yourself as an artist?
Black Orchid: Eclectic, innovative, creative, and boundary pusher.
IceBurghSociety.com: What led to your style of delivery and beat-selection?
Black Orchid: I guess I'd say trial and error. I kept trying till I found a formula that worked for me and stuck with it.
IceBurghSociety.com: How do you think you differ from other artists?
Black Orchid: I feel I differ in the fact that I can make beats and songs in various genres, from Dancehall to EDM.
IceBurghSociety.com: Who influenced your style?
Black Orchid: Timberland, Missy Elliott, 9th Wonder, Dilla, and Pete Rock.
IceBurghSociety.com: What ‘s the most important item in your music collection?
Black Orchid: My notepad. All my ideas and songs go in there.
IceBurghSociety.com: Dead or alive, who would be your dream collaboration?
Black Orchid: I'd love to collaborate with D'Angelo.
IceBurghSociety.com: What's the most successful or highest point in your career?
Black Orchid: Just the fact that I am able to be doing What I love, finally after almost not making music for good after a long hiatus.
IceBurghSociety.com: What do you have planned coming up, and do you have any Final Shout-Outs?
Black Orchid: I am working on some albums for a couple artists and planning to release an EP as well. I wanna shout out everyone who has supported me in one way or another, thanks for your encouragement and your advice, and shout out all the talented artists I'm working with as well.
