CHALLENGE ACCEPTED: I am from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada and have been living in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada since 2012.
IceBurghSociety.com: What got you into Hip Hop?
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED: I got into Hip Hop early on during the late nineties. I was also a Metal fan and at the time Hip Hop and Metal were closely knit. Bands like Limp Bizkit and Korn used to feature guys like Ice Cube and Method Man and stuff like that exposed me to Hip Hop.
IceBurghSociety.com: How would you describe yourself as an artist?
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED: As an artist I describe myself as a song writer , vocalist rhyme sayer / screamer and guitarist. I write and record all the guitar, bass and vocal parts for my band Challenge Accepted.
IceBurghSociety.com: What led to your style of delivery and beat-selection?
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED: What led to my style and beat selection as an MC / Rhyme Sayer is lots of influence from early Dr. Dre type beats , anything produced by C-Lance and I really am a fan of the underground hip hop sound like Ill Bill, Necro, Vinnie Paz, Immortal Technique, La Coka Nostra, Slaine, ADLIB, Madchild, Snak the Ripper and all that stuff.
IceBurghSociety.com: How do you think you differ from other artists?
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED: I differ from other artists due to the fact I have a band and have aggressive hardcore metal influences blended in with hardcore Hip Hop. As an MC I'm just original , no one looks or dresses or acts like me. I have my own mannerisms and style. I'm a rocker metal head who spits bars and rhymes.
IceBurghSociety.com: Who influenced your style?
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED: My style is very influenced from everything from hardcore Hip Hop to Punk Rock and Post Hardcore Metal and Nu Metal. Me and my band are a blend of every aggressive musical style out there. I love old school Hip Hop and underground Hip Hop and I also love every type of metal.
IceBurghSociety.com: What ‘s the most important item in your music collection?
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED: The most important item in my music collection is YouTube LOL. I listen to everything on YouTube. If I had to pick a specific artist right now it would be a Metal band called Serpentine Dominion. If I had to pick a specific object/physical item it would be my guitar.
