Read below as she gives you an insight to who she is, what led her to singing and where she plans on bringing it.

Read on. Where are you from?

Coco Leah: I was born in Toronto, grew up mostly in Mississauga.  Later lived in Toronto for some time before moving back to Mississauga where I still reside. What got you into music?

Coco Leah: I grew up listening to a variety of music.  I always wanted to sing and write and perform, and music has always had a direct yet metaphorical approach to voicing one's opinion.  I grew up wanting to reach out to people through my music.  Music has always been a part of me through dance, singing and writing. How would you describe yourself as an artist?

Coco Leah: I would describe myself as a soulful, R&B singer.  One who is poetic.  I love to inspire, uplift people and make them aware of what's going on in our world.  People pay attention to music and I feel. What led to your style of delivery and beat-selection?

Coco Leah: I have always loved R&B and soul music.  When I sing, my lyrics are raw truths from myself, people I know or real life issues or events in our world.  Therefore I sing from my heart and soul.  So, R&B, Soul and Hip Hop really suit my voice and messages.  I choose beats depending on my feelings and what I am trying to portray or speak about. How do you think you differ from other artists?

Coco Leah: I believe I differ from other artists because everything I sing about is straight truth.  I use my own experiences and issues as well as others' and put it all in my music.  I also sing about real life issues in the world.  I sing to spread awareness. I sing to make a difference.  I strongly believe that if you are given a gift, you should use it to help others.  Since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to sing and write.  I always knew I wanted to help people through my music.  I know that there's a lot of music about sex, drugs etc.  But when I write, although sometimes I may be singing about the same thing. However, in a much different context.  One which will inspire people to live in a positive light, rather than encourage our youth and adults to turn to drugs and sex and alcohol as a crutch.  I try to help people embrace the negative to turn them into positives.  I write and sing about topics that many may feel very uncomfortable to talk about.  Many people look to music as a release.  They listen and think.  That is my goal every time.  To encourage people to think and do better. Who influenced your style?

Coco Leah: Growing up, I listened to a variety of music as previously mentioned.  My style was formed from different artists like Monica, Brandy, TLC, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Faith Evans and Dru Hill to name a few. What ‘s the most important item in your music collection?

Coco Leah: Unfortunately I lost all my albums a while back. Dead or alive, who would be your dream collaboration?

Coco Leah: Hands down - WHITNEY HOUSTON!!!! What's the most successful or highest point in your career?

Coco Leah: Currently, I would say my biggest success is the fact that I work with people in different parts of the world.  I would also say the fact that I have been contacted by people I look up to in music to be told that my music helped them or touched them in some way.  That my music created a difference and change in their lives.  My ultimate success however, is that my son is so proud of me and loves and sings to my music.  In the future, I see the most successful and highest point in my career to be me writing lyrics for artists and selling my music worldwide.  More importantly, reaching out to people all over the world with my messages and making changes.  I see myself using my money to not only benefit my loved ones but also those throughout the world whom are struggling.  That has always been my ultimate goal through my music.  To help others. What do you have planned coming up, and do you have any Final Shout-Outs?

Coco Leah: For 2017 I plan to be performing in bigger shows and venues this summer.  I can't tell my secrets though.  I am also currently exploring my options and planning the promotion of my latest release of my EP, "Chapter One".  I have been collaborating with different artists in the GTA and will be doing more collaborations throughout the year.  I am writing for my next EP and plan to work on a mixtape this year as well.  I plan to perform in other areas outside the GTA and in the United States.  I plan to also have more interviews and plan a few events to raise awareness for different matters.
