We introduce the winner of the second round of the IceBurgh Invitational Performance League: #705Live, Sudbury rapper, I.B. Profit!

 

Read below as he gives you an insight to who he is, what led him to Hip Hop music and where he plans on bringing it.

IceBurghSociety.com: Where are you from?

 

I.B. Profit: Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.

 

IceBurghSociety.com: What got you into Hip Hop?

 

I.B. Profit: People were always playing Hip Hop in the areas I grew up and hung out.

IceBurghSociety.com: How did you get your name?

I.B. Profit: My homie, A.J. Chapais gave me that name way back in the day. 

IceBurghSociety.com: How would you describe yourself as an artist?

 

I.B. Profit: With middle fingers, lots of em!!

IceBurghSociety.com: What led to your style of delivery and beat-selection?

 

I.B. Profit: 90's hip hop probably had alot to do with my style and delivery. My homie Jus Beats always has dope beats cooking, so we used his instrumentals in the majority of our work for "Broken Home Collabos" albums with me him and Sincere; and I continue to do so  with my solo work.

 

IceBurghSociety.com: How do you think you differ from other artists?

 

I.B. Profit: I don't care about money and flashy shit, I make music when and how i want to, not as a means to an end.

IceBurghSociety.com: Who influenced your style?

I.B. Profit: Tupac, Biggie, Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang Clan, Redman, Nas, Non Phixion, Jedi Mind Tricks, Necro, Slaine, Apathy, Celph Titled. My Group Broken Home Collabos. The list would be too long.

IceBurghSociety.com: What ‘s the most important item in your music collection?

 

I.B. Profit: Probably my recording equipment and my guitars.

 

IceBurghSociety.com: Dead or alive, who would be your dream collaboration?

 

I.B. Profit: Red Man, Method ManApathy and Celph Titled.

 

IceBurghSociety.com: What's the most successful or highest point in your career?

I.B. Profit: Anytime I rock a really live crowd, or when people hit me up really passionate about my work.

IceBurghSociety.com: What do you have planned coming up, and do you have any Final Shout-Outs?

 

I.B. Profit: I'll be opening for Evil Ebenezer and Robbie G on June 11th at The Asylum in Sudbury; June 18th I'll be opening for Doom Squad also at The Asylum; I'm working on a show for AugustFest in Elliot Lake; and I'll be in the second round of the IIPL: #705Live events. I'm working on a solo album titled "Ravings of a Madman", and lining up more things all the time. Shoutouts to my beautiful wife and kids, everyone at IceBurgh Society, my homies in BHC, anyone dialing 705, and everyone who read this far!!!
