IceBurghSociety.com: Where are you from?

K-ROUGE: London, Ontario, Canada born and raised.

IceBurghSociety.com: What got you into Hip Hop?

K-ROUGE: I’ve always been a musical person but the energy and creativity involved made me realize my love for hip-hop. Shawn (The Genesis) introduced me to genre about 10 years ago when we first met. A couple years later we started writing it together and haven’t stopped because it became and still is such a huge part of our lives.

IceBurghSociety.com: How would you describe yourself as an artist?

K-ROUGEAs an artist, I’d say ‘calculated perfectionist’. When I’m in that mindset, I won't leave the studio until it's done, and done correctly. But I also won’t rush or force any projects so some nights can be a bit slower than others but the end result is always the same; quality.

IceBurghSociety.com: What led to your style of delivery and beat-selection?

K-ROUGEI have a straight-up passion for music of any style or genre which is likely the biggest contribution of the diversity I try to bring (R&B, Trap, Old School, Dirty South) through my own sound. I create the music the way I listen to it, according to how I’m feeling in that moment. At the end of the day, my beat selection and delivery is really based off of where I am and what I do in that stage of my life, I don’t stick to a certain formula. Whatever's going on in my world, you'll hear it coming through the music.

IceBurghSociety.com: How do you think you differ from other artists?

K-ROUGEI add a lot of depth to my music and try to have the widest range possible. I work hard to bring something new and unique to every track by making use of my full skillset. I’ll adapt to any style or beat to create a finished product that’ll always stand out on the record.

IceBurghSociety.com: Who influenced your style?

K-ROUGE: If I’m talking strictly hip-hop then ‘09 Drake was the biggest influence of my music by far. I also have to mention Lloyd Banks, T.I., Kanye West, Ludacris, a little ASAP Rocky

IceBurghSociety.com: What ‘s the most important item in your music collection?

K-ROUGE: Akon signature on a fitted cap.

IceBurghSociety.com: Dead or alive, who would be your dream collaboration?

K-ROUGEStill gotta go with Drake. I’ve been a huge fan since Room For Improvement

IceBurghSociety.com: What's the most successful or highest point in your career?

K-ROUGE: I’d have to say that my first headlining show is the moment that really sticks out to me the most at this time, and opening for Snak was a close second.

IceBurghSociety.com: Any Final Shout-Outs?

K-ROUGE: Shout out my team ‘Ground Zero’ (DABS, and Shawn The Genesis) as always and keep a look out for our mixtape that’ll be dropping late September.
