We introduce the latest featured artist, the first female artist to be featured, London MC, LOLA! She gives you an insight to who she is, what brought her to Hip Hop and where she plans on bringing it. Read on. 

 

 

IceBurghSociety.com: Where are you from?

 

Lola: I was born and raised in London, Ontario.

 

IceBurghSociety.com: What got you into Hip Hop?

 

Lola: Listening to Eminem was no longer enough to vent out my frustrations. I needed to express myself through my own words.

IceBurghSociety.com: How would you describe yourself as an artist?

 

LolaHow I would describe myself as an artist would be, humble and grateful.

 

IceBurghSociety.com: What led to your style of delivery and beat-selection?

 

LolaI would say my passion I uphold as a person, truly led to my style as an artist and pain influenced my delivery.

 

IceBurghSociety.com: How do you think you differ from other artists?

 

LolaI am different for the fact, nobody can ever be me. They can't hold my burdens or carry my integrity to my music.

 

IceBurghSociety.com: Who influenced your style?

 

Lola: Truly a major influence to my style... was Mos Def and Marshall Mathers.

IceBurghSociety.com: What ‘s the most important item in your music collection?

 

Lola: The most important item in my music collection I'd have to say is, a song this man wrote, his name is Mike. The song is about missing and murdered indigenous women. The pain and honor in his voice truly moves me.

 

IceBurghSociety.com: Dead or alive, who would be your dream collaboration?

 

LolaMy collaboration I'd absolutely love would be Amy Winehouse.

 

IceBurghSociety.com: What's the most successful or highest point in your career?

Lola: My highest point in my career... would be my deported father whom lives in Portugal, hearing my song and telling me he is proud of me, and that I would make it.

IceBurghSociety.com: Any Final Shout-Outs?

 

Lola: I want to shout out my dear friend and producer Axel Rosa, every person who pressed play on my song.  Most of all the love of my life, Michael who at his hardest time always supports me.
