IceBurghSociety.com: Where are you from?
Lyrical Mind: Born & Raised in the heart of the forest city London, ON.
IceBurghSociety.com: What got you into Hip Hop?
Lyrical Mind: Hip Hop has always been one of those things that helped me meditate my thoughts and has always been my therapy. What really got me into hip hop was the fact the life style of the artists I was listening to like Pac, was really relevant to my life.
IceBurghSociety.com: How would you describe yourself as an artist?
Lyrical Mind: Describing myself as a artist, I'd say as well as most, that I have a very different approach then others and combine funk, rock and modern music with a new school vibe. Always giving lyrics you can relate to and beats that bang.
IceBurghSociety.com: What led to your style of delivery and beat-selection?
Lyrical Mind: Growing up on Motown and artist like James Brown, and Michael Jackson. I've always been big on beats that get you up off your feet, and with my energetic style, it combines hand in hand very well with my beat selection and delivery.
IceBurghSociety.com: How do you think you differ from other artists?
Lyrical Mind: I'd say not very many artist out there have a style like myself, with that Funk/Rock/Modern Hip Hop feel while always keeping that boom bap style. As well, I'd say my live performances will sure be something for everyone to see if you like energy. I take my performances as serious as my recordings.
IceBurghSociety.com: Who influenced your style?
Lyrical Mind: I'd say what really influenced my style is growing up in a very negative environment that I always felt could be relatable to others and give hope if expressed a certain way.
IceBurghSociety.com: What ‘s the most important item in your music collection?
Lyrical Mind: The most important item to my music collection is honestly my pen and pad, as I've always felt more in touch with my feelings and lyrics writing them out on paper. Guess I'm a old head like that lol.
IceBurghSociety.com: Dead or alive, who would be your dream collaboration?
Lyrical Mind: With no hesitation I'd say the legend Tupac Shakur, as his lyrics have always touched my heart growing up and has always been someone I've admired and always could relate to his words.
IceBurghSociety.com: What's the most successful or highest point in your career?
Lyrical Mind: I've had quite a bit of a high points in my music career so far. To narrow it down to one, I'd say is very difficult. Some of the highest points in my career was travelling Central America doing music, meeting some greats like Damien Marley,
Testo, Busta Rhymes and more. As well having established a very successful company so far, MistAitken Productions.
