Welcome to the new exclusive interview series, called "My Intro..."! This series will be the first introduction for many talented up and coming artist out of the coldest country out, Canada!

We introduce the latest featured artist, the soulful and creative Toronto artist, SE'LAH GENESIS! Se'Lah Genesis: Conceived in Toronto. Born and raised in Ottawa. What got you into Hip Hop?

Se'Lah Genesis: My aunt was married to an American when I was a kid and they lived in Cincinnati, Ohio. My uncle, at the time, used to mail us VHS videos of BET, because we didn't have that here. These videos introduced me to Digital Underground, Kool Mo Dee, LL Cool J, Chubb Rock, Big Daddy Kane, Queen Latifah, and Naughty by Nature; to name a few. How would you describe yourself as an artist?

Se'Lah GenesisCreative, experimentative and uplifting. What led to your style of delivery and beat-selection?

Se'Lah GenesisI feel out everything. I am a very spiritual being. I am music. I let the Universe guide me. When I'm drawn to something I go with it! How do you think you differ from other artists?

Se'Lah GenesisI think we are all unique unto ourselves. I don't know if I would use the word differ so much. I just stay focused on what brings me joy and don't bother too much about others. I super appreciate the immense talents of other artists and often try to support as much as I feel inspired to do; whether it be buying their music, seeing a show or liking or sharing their posts. I try to keep my appreciation up. Who influenced your style?

Se'Lah Genesis: Old school hip-hop and 90s rnb mostly. To add some names: Erykah Badu, Missy Elliott, and Lauryn Hill. What ‘s the most important item in your music collection?

Se'Lah Genesis: I have a boom box and a bunch of cassette tapes. If you're talking album wise: The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, The Sneak Attack, Sade's greatest Hits, The Score, and Floetic. Dead or alive, who would be your dream collaboration?
